Alamo proudly recognizes Mick Simpson as our Classified Employee of the Year!
Mick is Alamo's day custodian, but that job title and responsibility are only a tiny part of what makes Mick a vital member of our Alamo Family.
For everything he does at the 'Mo, it's easy to forget that he's an amazing custodian who has helped create a custodial team focused on making Alamo the best maintained site in the district.
For our students and staff, it is clear that Mick brings so much to the Alamo school culture. When I am out, Mick steps in and creates entertaining morning announcements that become the highlight of the day.
Even though he is "world famous" from his Time Magazine photo and his interviews on TV about his COVID activities (painting the restrooms and feeding the local crows), he stops and talks to every student who needs a minute with him. In fact, Mick's relationship with every student at Alamo is part of his Mick-stique.
Mick is all in for Alamo, and Alamo is certainly enriched and brightened by all of his Mickness!
